ok so heres the story, ive been served a 30 day eviction notice, and Income Assistance has already sent her a half a months rent ( i have a roomate that has left me ) and the landlord has cashed this cheque..., does that leave me the right to stay here for another half a month, if not then what is youre take on the situation??...

yes, once the check is cashed, it is an admission to modification of a previous or
intended action. IN this case, extension of the lease.
Stay where you are.
if in doubt, ASK the landlord about your status; remove the doubts.

To avoid being taken to court, you need to be out 30 days from the first day of the notice you received

You must follow the date on the eviction notice. If you do not vacate before then, all your stuff will be out at the curb.
