I had a bearded dragon. I sold it yesterday. I find them rather boring but very demanding. Plus a lot of bearded dragons feel trapped in their tanks and want more space. So they scratch at their cages. I have 7 snakes. They are all handled lots and they love to be close to ur body heat. When they find a comfy spot they just sit. Or they move and entertain u if u want them to. Snakes are easier to look after, more fun and a great project. If u need any advice about them send me a mail (-:

Since you mentioned mother does not wish mice or rats within the freezer, you as a rule simply knocked out all of the track species of lizards. They particularly don't seem to be for learners. They have got to consume mice and rats for well wellness. However in case you have your center set on a montior I might attempt to get a peach throat, a yellow track, a black tree track, mangrove, dwarf track. Nile, water and savs all get AT LEAST 6 ft lengthy. And want a greater than 60 gallon tank. The others I indexed develop to be round five on the so much and might do k in a 60 gallon (they're normally tail) PLease do as a lot study on some thing species you're considering earlier than hand so you're ready. Also seem into vets within the field to discover out in which to take it if anything is going flawed. Monitors are very costly (to not say a few others don't seem to be) and also you wish to ensure that you just maintain your funding. I might say a blue tongue skink, however the vet instructed me to fed it hoppers to overcome a nutrition deficency. Bearded dragons are a excellent starter lizard and if you happen to google them there are a few very well web pages to get know-how on them. Others you'll be able to believe of might be uromastyx, leopard lizards (no longer gecko), spiny crevace lizards, collared lizards, yellow throated plated lizard, sudan plated lizard, huge plated lizard, different skinks. I would not pass with any chameleons, they don't like being treated and dealing with them can honestly strain them to demise. I count on from the way in which you're speakme you do not wish a "exhibit puppy". Hope I might transparent matters up from you somewhat bit.

I have to agree that snakes are easier. I suggest you get a Ball Python. Oddly enough, they are very loving and fun to watch and play with. My snake loves to slither up my arm and around my neck and he'll sit there for long periods of time. He's a joy to have. Here's some info on Ball Pythons.

Well my dad hates snakes and would never let me bring one into his house. But if u are interested in lizards i would say the bearded dragon is ur best bet with the lizards, they are cheap they will coast u allot though with food and there cage and set up but they make verygood pets and they are very easy to tame. eespeciallywhen you get them as babies
