What computer would you suggest?
I'm looking at buying a computer. My last laptop just recently died on me and was being tormentingly slow anyways. It was an acer that I bought less than 3 years ago. I still have Microsoft word, power point, excel, and one note, which I wont need to purchase.
So I was wondering which computer to purchase for under $800, where I could possibly do financing and pay for it monthly.
Is Dell a good laptop to buy? I was looking at the 'Vostro 3400' because it's quite small. Which is a definite plus for me.
I am also a business student who likes her music... so I'll need something that has a bit more space too.
Oh. Another question. How do I get all the information off my old laptop on to the new one? My laptop is pretty much permanently dead because the power cord doesn't work anymore, any suggestions on how I get all my music and documents/pictures on the new one?

To be brutally honest, Dell are crap. I'd look at something like a Toshiba, a Lenovo, or an Asus.
The Toshiba A500 should be more than enough, if portability is an issue look at a 14" Asus or Lenovo ThinkPad.
As for getting your information off, just pull the hard drive out, put it in a USB 2.5" HDD caddy and power it up on your new computer, it will bring up all your old files.

Dell vostro are pretty good.
You have a ton of choices out there. I personally think Lenovo would be the best choice.
Durable and have a great track record. It all really depends on your budget as well. Smaller laptops with faster components usually run about 150.00 more than the 15 inch version.
Make sure you stick with a dual core CPU and at least a 250 gig to a 500 gig hard drive with a minumum of 3 gig of ram.
As for moving your old data to your new machine. You will need to remove the hard drive and reconnect it with and external hard drive enclosure,, these will cost about 10 to 20 dollars.
Your hard drive might be an IDE hard drive.. for that enclosure
