i am a male and i feel like my mom doesn't understand me?
a while ago i caught her messing with my recyclable stuff and i got mad at her for throwing away some stuff (i know that was wrong of me) and there's been a lot more cases of this but i don't need to go into that.
I am 12 turning 13 in 4 months
and if it helps i think i am going through the stage of puberty

Practice your communication skills. Talk to her about your day every day to open up conversation with her. If you don't communicate then how can she understand you.
It is not fair to play video games all day and forego time together then complain she doesn't understand you. It is time for you to begin making efforts towards connecting with your Mom and not wait for her to do it bc that is how the dynamic of always feeling lectured to begins. You will be an adult before you know it begin the transition now. Your caring about recycling is a great start. Way to Go!
