How do you avoid getting a shock when removing plug leads?
I want to remove the plug leads from a running engine to test which cylinder isn't firing, whenever I've done this in the past I've got unpleasant shocks, even wearing gloves, and using pliers. Is there any way of avoiding the shock? Like standing on the spare wheel?

There are insulated spark plug pliers available, for that, but checking it by pulling off plug wires can damage your ignition system, which is computer controlled.
These systems carry a lot more current then the older cars did, and will and can shock you and maybe even kill you.
You are talking thousands of volts being carried in each wire, to the plug. Most of the time, the engine might only use 10000 volts, but when grounded, the voltage can to up as high as the coil will put out, and some of these coils will put out over 40000 volts.
These systems will ground out and misfire, if one of the spark plug rubber boots is not sealed right, and allow current to flow to the motor. That could be causing your misfire.
I replaced my wires with new 8mm wires and my engines missed on one. In the dark of my garage at night, with the lights off, I could see the plug going to ground on the engine, leaking out from under the rubber plug boot.
So I used special non conductive grease, to seal the rubber boots, on the lower lip and this stopped the leakage. The grease is made especially for that purpose. Automotive stores carry it.
I think it is the number 1 plug that will damage the ignition system, if disconnected while running. I am not sure, but I know it can happen.
Remember, current will flow though the easiest path, the one with the least resistance, so if you are grounded on the cars body, or accidently touch the body somewhere, the current can flow through you and hurt you or kill you, if it flows through your heart.
Just replace all your plugs with new ones, and make sure you wiring is in good condition, and use some of that non conductive sealing grease, a little bit on the boot lip, as a seal.

Theres no longer truly some thing rapidly led to from tampons. yet like the others stated, you will get TSS from utilizing them. some females and females won't be able to apply tampons in any respect. Thats because it is going to finally end up blocking the ventilation too a lot ending in extra complications down the line. that's truly as a lot as use in case you prefer to apply them or no longer. They do have sturdy consequences. alongside with they are extra "hidden" and also you should swim and workout at the same time as you placed on them. i actual would basically flow with the pads if you aren't any further valuable. also they're some thing you would possibly want to get use to. alongside with putting it in a ideas adequate because in case you do not you would have some soreness once you bend or maybe walk. a good number of wome worry about scent, and individuals seeing a bulge protruding from a pad. yet remeber a era is a common component, natrual and the overall public dont seek for "whos wearing a pad on the instantaneous"

removing spark plug wires with the engine running can causefatal damage to your vehicles electronic ignition parts, better get your cylinder efficincy tested by a tecnician with an approvedengine performance tester, otherwise if you are determined to do it your wayemove the wire from the dist. end first if the ignition is and hei, you are going to get that unpleasant shock no matter where you touch it, best follow my first suggestion though!

HI
You can use pliers but they have to have a rubber handle..they make a special tool for this only about $5.00. Here's a link to what it looks like

Yea, you could always hook up a timing light to the individual lead and wait for the light.
Or my favorite, the candle and exhaust manifold trick.

take a pair of pliers that are insulated , and you can pull the boot off the blug as long as you keep your hand on the insulation.

use pliers with rubber handles and don't touch the car when you do it because your grounding yourself out that's usaully why you get shocked.
