I think it was around before 1961 It has been revised since the coming of christ.
To be there is only one God.
the Sabbath law was changed to take time off work to spend with family and to worship God.
You shouldn't kill unless the president says it is okay because he knows more than God, and he says it is okay.
You shouldn't commit adultery with anyone who may disclose it to others, has AIDS or other STDS>
You can commit fornication or sleep with a multitude of women before marriage.
You should not steal, unless it is cheating the government, failing to pay taxes, or running the banking system and other CEO's.
The 9th one was about lying, I am sure the youth of Texas need to know that. Don't lie that means don't say something happened if it didn't.
10th was don't want everything you see, be content with what you have. It is the only one that goes to your heart condition. Saying not to want it.

You state "I am the Lord your GOD" as a commandment. It is actually a statement.
Number 2 is the first commandment going on to what you have as commandment 5.
Number 5 contains two commandments (The 4th) which is the Sabbath and (The 5th) To honour your father and mother.
The commandments were received by Moses on behalf of the children of Israel. The nation of Israel were the people to whom God gave His commandments. The rest of mankind had the law (Apart from the Sabbath) written in their heart, that is, in their conscience. The penalty for breaking a single commandment was death.
Neither groups of mankind were able to keep the commandments.
The only one who has ever kept all ten commandments was Jesus Christ who was put to death for us, despite Him doing no sin. He paid the penalty of the law in our stead.

Moses brought the 10 commandments down to a bunch of the guys waiting at the bottom of the hill to hear the news ... which was good news...and bad news ..... ...originally there were more than 10 commandments .... so .... Moses exercised his God given Hebrew negotiating skills .......the good news was ... he got Him down to .... Only Ten Commandments ..... the bad news was .... Adultery ... was still in ! ....
