can antibiotics be causing my weight gain ?

Can antibiotics cause weight gain ?

Ive been eating the same amount, and ecxersizing more, but i've gained weight recently. Ive noticed its been since i started taking antibiotics for me acne, can they be the reason? Could it be me retaining water ? A slower metabolism?

    You can google the name of your antibiotic and then read the side effects. If that is the only thing that you have changed, then it makes sense that the meds are the cause. =)

    I've never heard of antibiotics causing weight gain, and I spent several years working in a medical office. Maybe you're thinking of steroids.

    If you are eating the right food and exercising more, you will be building toned muscle which weighs more than fat thus you put on weight but you get slimmer.

    Stop looking for things to blame. You are eating more and you know it.
