    Do this:

    1. Click the round Office button in the upper left corner of the window.

    2. Click the Save As->Other Formats menu item.

    3. Set the Save as Type list box to Rich Text Format (*.rtf).

    4. Save the file.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

simply click "save as" then under the save as type drop down menu you should see a list of different extensions... you want to go down to word 97-2003 document.

After you have done this save, close word, find the file, right click, go to properties and it should now say .doc ;)

and if you want to save it as an rdf go to pdf.

Click on the orb and go to "Save As..." instead of Save. On the right side, you'll see options like "Microsoft Word 97-2003" (.doc) and "OpenDocument Text" (.odt- OpenOffice's default format)
