Okay, I'm making deviled eggs for the first time...?

My question is this: How long do I boil a couple dozen eggs? I have a recipe with crumbled bacon that sounds delicious. I'm just not a pro in the kitchen....HELP!

Put the eggs in a very large pot. Add 1 tablespoon salt.

Fill the pot with cold water to 2-inches above the level of the top of the eggs.

Bring the water to a boil on the top of the stove.

Boil the water for 5 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the water for 15 minutes.

Drain the eggs and quickly fill the pot with the coldest water from the tap.

Let sit in the water until they are fully cooled off. (This step makes it easy to peel the egg shells)

You're good to go with your recipe. Enjoy!

I normally pierce the wide end of the egg with a sharp object (like the pointed end of a meat thermometer), then lower them into boiling water, leaving them for 14 minutes exactly. If you have too many eggs to keep the water boiling, it might be better to do them in batches.

This is the kind of thing that experience would help for. You could always put in a few extra eggs and pull one out to quickly peel when you think they are done if you want to do them all at once. ∠°)
