Is the Indian name "Mistry" pronounced like "mystery?"?

...or at least close enough that a North American who is not familiar with the name might hear it wrong when the Indian person introduces him or herself?

    to the second q, yes for sure. to the 1st, it depends on how exactly u pronounce mystery, as 2 or 3 syllables.

    well its all because of the influence of their mother tongues.i'm sure no word is pronounced the same way throughout the world.
