Excuse my blondness, but what is an iPad?

My friend keeps talking about it but i have no idea what it is! Please enlighten me! Thanks :]

    It's made by apple, and it's a brand new touch-screen tablet. it's pretty much an ipod touch with a screen that is the size of a regular sheet of paper. I played with one for an hour today today, and it was pretty cool, but not cool enough for me to buy it.
