I'm sorry your dog is or having problems with his leg. If you can move it around and your dog is not in pain, then that's a good sign. It is definitely not broken.

He may have injured it while he was moving, running or playing. Sometimes dogs will pull or strain a muscle. It can be sore causing them to limp.

Or some dogs will get muscle spasms causing the dog to hold their leg up, or not put much weight on it.

Whether they strained a muscle or having spasms, the brest thing to do is to just massage your dog's leg, and dont let him run for a couple of days or until you notice that he's walking ok with no limp or not favoring the leg.

If it his back leg then it may be a problem with the knee cap. Some dogs have a problem called "luxating patella", or a knee cap that slips out of place. Dependinbg on how severe it is, sometimes it will go back into place. In severe cases, only surgery can correct the problem. This only happens with the back legs. Your dog will not be able to put weight on the leg and it will tend to give out on them if they try to walk or run on it. My dog had this problem, had the surgery and now they can walk, run and jump again.

If you think this may be the problem, then you need to have a vet examine your dog. They can determine if it is a muscular or knee cap problem, how severe it is and whether your dog needs to see a specialist or have surgery.

Make sure your dog rests and see how he does by tomorrow. If it's just a pulled or strained muscle or your dog had a muscle spasm, it should ease up within a day or so. If it doesn't or gets better, then you should take your dog to the vet. They can examine them and do x-rays to determine what is the problem with your dog's leg.

Best of luck with your dog. Hope I helped.

Okay, i don't see a question there, but im guessing you question is what could be wrong? The dog may have any of the foling wrong, Tick in his leg/paw

Stone in the pads on the foot

A pine prick or any flower pricks in between his paws,

    Maybe his nails need cutting.

Maybe he got a bee or wasp sting?

a dog would let you hold its leg if it had a fracture, most anyways.

The only way to determind what it is, is to see a vet, which is what you should have done as soon as you realised your dog was in pain. No one can help over the internet with problems like this.

You are a vet? Would you diagnose and treat your own leg if it was injured?

Your dog won't show pain if he can possibly help it, that's a survival trait, an injured dog in the wild gets killed by other dogs - so it's no indication at all that he's hurt.

Get that poor dog to a vet to be checked out -

First note which leg is causing his troubles. Then check it for bruises cuts or anything wrong. If you cant find anything goto the vet.

That was clear as mud. Try describing the problem besides "problem" [g]

    See a VET.
