Is it clichéd to start a film script for a tragedy/drama with a funeral scene?

A commonly used plot device or a cliché? I can't decide.

Just because it's been done before doesn't make it a cliche. Everything you can think of has been done before. It's how you handle it that makes it a cliche or not.

i think you should try it, and then see if you like it cause well im my opinion that is the most important thing, and no i don't find it cliche although it needs to be related to the story. but i think it will actually be cool
