Here I agree with Veers. I am also of the view that prayers can not change Karma results. But they may dilute the results of bad karma

This depends, on whether you are asking to know something or want something. The reason being is that the moment we begin to ask for something in our prayers the prayer room is no longer a prayer room how ever it becomes a marketplace.

About karma and to overcome it, one must face the fact that they have done a horrible deed then pray to god and accept your punishment. This one experience was back in elementary school when I asked god if this girl liked me. Within a few days i came to realize she didn't.

Prayer is an important tool of spiritual practice in the generic spiritual Path of Devotion.

Prayers not only purify the people who pray but also those in the vicinity.

Prayers enable us to send out powerful vibrations into the world and contribute to peace and social harmony. Prayers align our hearts and minds with the highest purpose of our lives. There is no power in the world other than the power of prayer that can take us so close to the heart of God and connect us to Him in ways we can not even imagine.

In Bagavath Githa God gives us the assurance that His devotees, who are immersed in the thoughts of Him and soaked by intense devotion to Him are freed forever from the bonds of mortal life.

yes, my brother had fallen away a little bit, never came to church, I preyed for months and I was going to an activity where we had to bring something special to us, I picked my mustard seed necklace (I mustard seed is really small, in my religion LDS or mormon it is said that to have the faith of a mustard seed because mustard seeds grow into GIANTIC TREES!) randomly my brother decides to go to the boy's activity, I was shocked, I had a really good experience to share that night with the other girls and I always thought I didn't have enough faith but I did! You have to prey and have faith!

I believe in karma as much as the next person who believes in karma, try doing a few good things, you can't just do a bad thing and ask for forgiveness every time if you know you are going to do it, that doesn't count (my brother never came back after that, or yet, he's shown more intrest though, but that's all I wanted was for him to come once, and he can be pretty stuborn) ^_^

There is evidence that prayer works, but not the way religious followers and teachings tell us. The positive (or negative) energy sent into the environment by prayers does and can effect physical things. There is (recent) evidence of people being healed of terminal illnesses due to prayer. But, it doesn't ALWAYS work, only sometimes. I don't know all of the things that effect the outcomes of prayers.

Sometimes bad things happen to you just because they do. It's not always karma. If you're worried about your Karma, go DO something to bring positivity into the world, like volunteer in a soup kitchen or orphanage or something, don't just sit on your butt and pray.

There is no karma. Only one life is given to us .What ever we do reflects in this life only.I pray always. If I don t have serious problems I will thank God. And if I have worries or problems I pray to God and I am getting good answers from above.I get comforted and relieve from my problems. .Even a insane man who commits a murder is not punished by a judge, because he does not know what he is doing. So if we do not know what we did in the previous life how a heavenly Father will punish us?Is God is lower than a judge? So trust God do good pray to Him and we get the rewards.

    Hi,

Yes Prayers always and always works...

And sincere prayers lessens the hardship of our Karma's but never completely overcomes it...

In Hinduism we say that thoughts are fastest... Faster than thoughts is Hanuman... And faster than Hanuman is sincere prayer from heart.

A sincere prayer from heart is always and always heard by Almighty regardless of religion, caste, gender, age... I had heard of a Saint in South India who use to solve problems of those who come to Him for solution... He use to listen to their problems then ask everybody who assembled there to pray for the person having problem.. And the problem used to get solved... He used to say that prayers have enormous strength if it is said from the depth of heart..

But as per the Laws of Karma goes there is no absolute pardoning for any of the Karma.. It reduces the ill effects to a great extent but we have to suffer at-least 10% of it there is NEVER 100% pardoning of ANY Karma...

Usually we forget that what we face is only small portion of our Karma and major part is taken by Almighty in order to help us on the path of Spirituality... But for us this 10% is also more as we always want more & more......

Just have faith that your prayers are heard and what you suffer is just 5 to 10 % of actual suffering ( If you have to suffer 100% then what condition you will be in, it is unimaginable)

    Hope it Helps..........

There is no objective evidence that prayers actually work nor does karma actually exist. Most of such arguments for either one usually involve a logical fallacy.

Prayers do work a lot. Like one time back in 2012, i was praying and hoping i would get my own apartment but then i was having doubts and one day from the housing authority, they told me that the apartment was mine so to accepted it.

why prayers if it did not work ? you know many bajan mandalies all over india. you know margazhi month early morning bajan. we pray god through prayers with full devotion and faith. The force of karma will be reduced by prayers. when the force reduced to 10 percent, 5 percent from 100 percent, the results of karma changed. whether you receive good or not, it is sure that you will not get bad effects through karma.

Answer these questions in your own mind:

Do you believe that god answers prayers today? (Most religious people say YES, as you can see by previous posts)

Do you believe that if a devout follower of your religion had cancer or aids that god would answer their prayers and cure them of the illness? (Most religious people would say YES)

How many amputees have had their limbs miraculously restored? (There is NOT A SINGLE CASE in recorded medical history of this EVER happening)

    Why is this?

    - Is it easier to believe that god does indeed answers prayers but just doesn't answer the crying pleas of amputees who have lost their limbs in car crashes. That god, for some reason, prefers performing healing miracles on everyone but them.

    - Or is it easier to believe that prayer simply does not work?

The obvious choice is that god does NOT answer prayers. And, there is a simple explanation for this. He does NOT exist.
