I have 3 on each wheel. Most come with a hoop with 2 on the hoop and one in the stock location. With a 6 inch lift I got from Pro Comp it came with 2 on the rear trailing arm that came with the kit and each in the stock location.

It is supposed to keep the bigger tire planted more. I havent really seen a differance though but in my kit it came with 3 per side.

Source(s): 94 Chevy 6" procomp lift, with pro comp 1000's shocks and 3'' body lift on 35x12.50x15's. Tires clear when the suspension is maxed out also.
