Gravel Drive Car Stuck.......?
Feeding cats at my friends while she is away. The gravel drive has really chunky stones and I cannot get my car out now, it's front wheel drive and back wheel is just spinning and I can smell rubber, how do I get out?? Yes, I'm a helpless woman driver, but I just want to go home and there are no neighbours nearby to help me and family are not calling me back, I'm relying on you now!
Actually think it's rear-wheel drive, as had same issue in snow with back wheel spinning. I will try putting something under the wheel.
It's not an April Fool joke, I am stuck. And I would think of a better joke than that!

If it's a front wheel drive car, how come the rear wheel is spinning?
Try gently 'rocking' the car back & forth between reverse & 1st or 2nd gear, or find an old piece of carpet or mat that you can wedge under the driven wheels that the car can crawl out on.

The faster you spin your wheels the deeper you'll dig yourself in, sounds like the best way would be to get someone to pull you out. If that's not possible then you need to dig out the ground in front of the wheels to make a gentler slope then line it with carpet or timber, then engage a higher gear than normal and try and ease out using minimal revs. Remember as soon as a wheel spins you'll dig yourself in deeper.

Dig out the gravel from behind your wheels - might give them enough grip to start moving.
Can you find any old bits of wood lying around? Put them under the wheels to give you a bit of grip.
