Ideas for Linux distros?

I have a dual Xeon server and an ATI Radeon HD 3870 x2 and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good Linux distro that would effectively and efficiently run my twin CPUs and GPUs. I also have a laptop with a 466 MHZ Celeron processor and 128 MB of RAM. Any ideas for that one? I tried Xubuntu but it wouldn't load, it was taking forever to boot. Thanks!

Almost any modern distro should support your graphics cards and processors. The usual Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, openSUSE, etc... Most distros don't include the ATI drivers by default, but you can download them from ATI's website, or from Ubuntu's Restricted Drivers Manager. Ubuntu's desktop kernel is compiled to support up to 8 cores by default; I'd have to check the others but they are probably similar or higher.

The RAM is the most limiting feature of the old Celeron box. Many desktop environments are simply too heavy to run in 128 MB of RAM. If you want to use a modern distro (aka not Damn Small Linux), I would look into Tiny Core Linux.
