Griffin accuses Collett of making threats to kill against him. Is this the beginning of the end of the BNP?

Have the BNP become embroiled in infighting again? Does this latest debacle show the BNP's leadership for the petty, short-sighted thugs which they are? Do you think this will discredit them completely as any sort of credible political party?

See below for more details:

I hope so.

Update:

Shevek - I agree completely - we need to build a new workers' party to offer a real alternative for ordinary people, otherwise there will always be the danger of a protest vote going to the far right.

However, this can only harm their prospects and could be the start of much infighting, which never goes down well with the electorate.

The beginning of the end for the BNP? Only if we can create a working class, socialist alternative to the likes of New Labour that is electorally viable. The reactionary ideas that fuel the far right parties must be be fought and eliminated of the level of ideas before such groups can be eliminated politically.

As for these events involving Collet and discrediting them as a "credible political party". Not in the eyes of the BNP faithful. The BNP has many of the attributes of a religious cult rather than a political organisation. These events only serve to reinforce the cult of personality within the BNP around the figure of Griffin. The only real test of the BNP's credibility comes on May 7th.

There is one question I would like to ask BNP supporters. Is it routine within the BNP to record or to have conversations between party officials recorded? Strange way to run a "democratic" political organisation.

interesting one - on the single hand, Collett's song checklist as a convicted, violent offender, and a string of nicely authenticated statements that quantity to reliable data that he's mentally unwell, recommend that the probability could have been authentic, and that the police thought so too. on the different hand, if Collett became plotting some form of evening of the fruit knives interior the Nazi top echelons, this could be a case of Griffin making allegations to the police with the intention to do away with him in circumstances that would reason his neanderthal stormtroopers to sense sympathy for their damaging threatened fuhrer. meanwhile, the rest human beings, interior the worldwide of relative sanity, does no longer be in any respect sorry to be certain Collett carry out his probability, and bypass down for a protracted stretch, and a bloody good riddance to the two considered one of them. No Pasaran!

The whole thing that Mark Collett was very much one of Nick Griffin's most trusted associates still many BNP supporters were unimpressed with his performance when her appeared on Question time. Still a when a BNP activist was arrested for threatening to kill Labour peer, Baroness Uddin. His Facebook message read: ‘were (sic) going to hang you one day. Regards the BNP.” shows that this is not an isolated event.

Griffin is the fourth person in four weeks to have received a death threat from a BNP member. As BNP chairman, he should not be surprised. His party membership list is full of criminals with convictions for violence. This gives the public an idea of the BNP as a party of violence, committed to violence, using the language of violence. It is particularly useful for the anti BNP parties especially with the coming General election.

And Griffin himself uses the language of violence frequently. He once called for a defense of white rights with “well directed boots and fists.” and that people “have the right to hurt people to maim and blow things up when they are not allowed any other any way of expressing a legitimate grievance.”

When he had Dominic Kennedy of the Times roughed up and ejected from a BNP meeting in February, Griffin said it proved his party was “not going soft.” So this situation is very much been coming for a while.

The far right are traditionally like this. Hitler's lot brawled among each other as well as with the left, and when he came to power, one of the first things he did was assassinate anyone he thought would be a threat or a rival. That included Ernst Röhm, leader of the Brownshirts, and many of his men.

So no, as the far right goes, I'm afraid it's business as usual.

I wonder who the sneak was who told Griffin that Collett had ideas about his demise? Nasty pair aren't they? Collett idolising Hitler and saying Aids is a 'friendly' disease! Griffin, just being Griffin! Amusing though that Griffin should be standing in Barking! No disrespect meant to anyone living there. I wonder if the Police are taking this seriously as Collett is out on bail or perhaps they might be thinking, let's just let them get on with it?

The vast majority of the BNP are stupid, old, gutless, spineless, pathetic social misfits.

Now that any colour resident of this broken country can join it has lost it's identity and is now just a dying dinosaur.

There was something on their website about it on monday, but that has gone missing now. Seems the BNP are a little edgy when it comes to calling their own members nazis.

Same old, same old - kind of puts expense scandals into perspective doesn't it...?! Contemplating murder isn't quite on the same scale..!

It's nothing more or less than most of us would expect from the BNP. They never were credible, never will be.
