Am I entitled to a tax refund (UK) ?

I quit my job in december 2009 and am now receiving jobseekers allowance. I, wondering if i will receive a refund for 2009. thanks in advance.

    The benefit office will make your refund with your next payment.

    More than likely, however it should have been made automatically by DSS when you handed them your P45 from your previous job.

    If you never done this when you signed on then you will need to send your form P45 and details of the amount of jobseekers allowance received up to the 5th April 2010 to HMRC and ask them to make any refund due.

    Keep copies of the forms and letter in case "they go astray" within HMRC.
