Recommended makeup for acne?
Okay, so, today I went to the dermatologist. They said that one reason why I may be breaking out is because of the wrong kind of makeup. I use blush, concealer, eyeshadow. Please help me. Thank you:)

Youv probally herd this a million times xD but wash your face before and after using make-up , trust me it helps, go without any make-up on weekends or basically anytime your alone and dont mind what you look like..this was hard for me xD but it gives your skin time to breathe, any eye shadow should be finn, and for concealer, try using clean, by cover girl, for normal skin, it's very light and water based ...(and it smells good x] ) i also have an garnier acne pen, it's rreally good :] and again, nice smelling xD

Eye shadow is probably not causing you to break out as it is not used on parts of the face that tend to break out.
While I don't think blush will cause you to break out, maybe the one you are using is too creamy/thick or contains ingredients that are clogging your pores. Try a lighter (in texture) blush or a powder blush. I know this is common sense, but if you use brushes make sure they are clean, of if you use your finger that they are clean as well. Bacteria can make acne worse.
Is your concealer too thick? If it is, it could be clogging your pores as well. Use a lightweight concealer; consider Maybelline mineral power concealer, or L'oreal true match concealer.

Maybe after all makeup isn't what is causing you to break out; a lot of girls (more than 50% of them) will experience acne no matter what they use. Practising good skincare habits will reduce acne.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL 1/ Never, ever touch your face. 2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day. 3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal 4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal. Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing. 5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again. 6/ Do this for 90 days. 7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days. Source: A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes. The secret is never to touch the spots Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Ok I feel your pain.. I have occasional acne too. And too keep your face from getting oily and making acne worst, wear a toner on your T zone and maybe a primer before you put on make up. I think Neutrogena has concealers that conceal and heal your pimples at the same time because it has salicylic acid. For eyeshadow, try not to use too much and buy hypo-allerengic ones so it doesn't irritate your skin, a good one is from Almay. good luck ! (: best answers?

I have been using KmS Mineral Essentials for a couple of years now. It was recommended by my Dermatologist to help heal my acne. It has made a huge difference in my skin. I think it is because it is an all natural mineral makeup that contains ingredients that can acually heal acne.

You need to find the right make up for your right type of skin. If youre very young, dont use too much makeup, you dont really need it. If you use base or powder, make them light so you dont look like a clown. Keep trying make up until you find the right one. I have had make ups that make my face feel itchy so I continue looking, until I find one that makes me feel comfortable. There are many treatments for acne, makeup, creams, and even laser. My recommendation is that if you are under a skin care treatment or cream, dont use too much make up, and don't expose your face to the sun.
I hope this helps a little.

it could be the brand you're using. try clinique or neutrogena.
i love neutrogena! neutrogena has a skin clearing liquid foundation and a skin clearing concealer, it heals and conceals!
but i'd suggest wearing powder foundation (neutrogna has a skin clearing powder one!!!) or a liquid concealer (neutrogena one i mentioned w/ the salysilic acid...spelling...) instead of concealer because concealer is more pigmented and wont let ur skin breathe, so wearing a foundation all over will still give u more coverage but let ur skin breathe (it sounds like it would clog ur pores but not really!!!)
and it'll help more if u let ur face breathe if you dont wear much makeup
return the favor?
