Pierced The Top Of My Ear Now Its Swollen, What Can I Put On It To Get The Infection Out ?
well i pierced the top of my ears, on both ears, the left ear is swollen and red, been cleaning it with the ear piercing medicine liquid, and peroxide, and the neosporin spray, was wondering what really works on ear piercings when they get swollen and infected,
the pain was so unbarable that i couldnt sleep, so i took the earring out, the ear doesnt hurt anymore, but its still very swollen, they told me its called califlower ear, that it has to be removed surgically, ive had that actually before on my right ear, and i removed it myself with tweezers, once i removed it a gush of blood came out, but this time is the left one, and the ear swelled up so much that the earring was pushing the swelling together which made it hurt like a *****, so i removed it and now it doesnt hurt, but its still very swollen, probably gonna head to the doctor one of these days, to get them to look at it

DON'T REMOVE THE EARRING it can trap the infection. What i do when my piercings hurt is get saline spray, there is some called h2ocean specifically for piercings but you can go to walmart and get a saline nose spray for 3 bucks with the same ingredients. Take a paper towel or napkin (towels and rags can harbor disease) wet with warm to hot water and use dial soap to gently clean the area, dry gently with another paper towel or napkin then spray with saline. The saline helps relieve pain and the saline draws out infection. You can use other soaps besides dial preferably something nonscented that doesn't dry out your skin because that just leads to more irritation. Don't use alcohol or peroxide to clean the infection because it can get trapped and lead to rot. You probably haven't used enough to be worried about just discontinue use and use soap to clean from now on. Keep hair up and away from twisting around the stud.

When you get something pierced, swelling is normal. It is NOT a sign of an infection. Your aftercare is awful though. Stop everything & switch to either a mild soap and water or sea salt soaks.
