I'm having trouble in burning disk with DVD Writer, please help....?

my DVD drive reads data properly.

I tried 2 softwares to burn DVD,G Burner and Nero.

In both softwares the burn option is disabled, but I can make ISO image.

It happened even before,so my bro thought it would be any virus so he formated the pc,

and after that it worked properly for a while and now again I'm having the same problem.

Is it any system fault???

I use windows xp(don't know which edition)

Update:

I use sony DVD writter, btw,if that would be of any help..

Sometimes having two burning software programs can cause conflict. I know for a fact that having both Roxio & Nero installed will cause problems. It could also be that DMA or Recording has been turned off. A couple of things you can check:

Right-click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. Go IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, select your burner, right click, select Properties/Advanced & make sure the Transfer Mode is DMA - not P10.

Right-Click on the drive, go to Properties, then Recording Tab & check the "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box. Click Apply & OK.

I recommend you use cucusoft to burn DVD movies, it is good at burning videos to dvd movies and make them play on DVD player. It Supports DivX, XviD, AVI, VOB, .asf, .wmv, .rm, .rmvb, and .mov format as input video.
