A blank/black screen on laptop?
Our laptop screen went blank (black) for no apparent reason. What might the problem be, and how do we fix it? My daughter was using it, and she claims it suddenly just went to a black screen. All the little icons indicate the computer (wireless, etc., etc) is still on, but there is nothing on the screen!

Probably switched it to external monitor. Depends on the model, but it's often a combination of Fn key and something else.
On this picture, for example

it's the Blue Fn key and the F7 key. Might need two presses to get back to where you were. Takes several seconds to do something, too.
EDIT Just looked closely at the pic - it's the bottom left. Would the one that's missing in that photo!
