:D don't worry, you are doing everything right. remember the old saying? No pain No gain....

what is happening is you are breaking down your muscle fibers while you are working out (which is what you want to do) and the soreness you get the next morning is just your body repairing itself. That is why it is key that you give your body time to rest. Another important thing, is that after you've given your body or that body part sufficient time for rest (usually a day) then you should jump back in the gym. You shouldn't stop working out for long periods of time do to muscle pain, if you do that then you'll just go through the same pain the next time. Your muscle need to adapt to the new lifestyle your introducing them to (ie. working, haha). keep it up and you'll see much improvement.

I would also recommend that you try the workout P90X. It is a great workout and it guides you along so you automatically be giving the right muscles the rest they need. Plus this workout is for all people, no matter what strength level and age, due to the fact that you can subsitute the pullups with resistant band.

If you have any question feel free to ask me, I'm actually a coach for beachbody (the company that does P90X). You can reach me at this website

good luck and hope to hear from you soon

Was it the first time you've done these exercises? When I started circuits training class the first day we did tons of squats and thigh exercises I'd never done before, and my legs hurt for a week! I could barely walk for the first 2 days. Literally. If you've just started just be sure to drink LOTS of water, take a walk even though it hurts, and maybe take an ibuprofin, and then get right back on the exercise tomorrow. If these are exercises you've done many times and are used you, you may have just worked it too hard. If you pulled something, let that muscle rest for at least 2 weeks before you work it hard again.

    Hope you feel better.

People doing exercise videos are usually in very good shape, with a lot of muscle mass and get that way working out for months or years, for hours and hours every day, on scary weight machines at the gym, and eating special diet with supplements. They don’t get that muscular doing calisthenics and using small weights. There are professionals.

Then when they decide to make money and do a video to help people going from out of shape to in shape, that kind of effort is absolutely nothing for them if they do calisthenics and use free weights, which are like feathers for them.

On the other hand, for you, it’s WAY too much unless you’ve been training for years using gym weight machines but then, you would not need those videos.

I personally think that people doing fitness videos are pretty annoying, like they’re shoving it down your face: “look what I can do so many times, with a smile on my face and if you try to do half of that, you’ll be so sore tomorrow, you’ll regret it, but I won’t be sore at all because I’m stronger that you!”

Just learn about calisthenics and using small weights and do your own workout, based on your own personal strength. How many reps you do or how heavy the weight you’re using is…does not matter. What matters is that you progress each time. You just need that one last rep, the one where you felt the burn but still kept good form. Then you’re done and need to rest a day or five days (depending on your age and healing speed) and go at it again when the soreness is completely gone.

You just need to feel the burn during the last rep. Do not go farther and work through the pain and damage your muscle fibers too much. You need to be a little sore the next day (if you’re young) or several days later (if you’re older and have to wait for DOMS, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), so you know you’re repairing stronger and have to rest, but you don’t need for the soreness to be painful.

Right now, just rest and don’t do anything. When your soreness is completely gone, exercise again but do it gently and as soon as you feel the burn…stop and move on to the next muscle.

That's called the good hurt. When your sore after working out your your muscles are building up. also it could hurt more then normal because your not stretching enough. keep in mind though that when people work out what your doing is burning calories and when building muscles they are actually ripping and building stronger when the are healing back up, so depending on the hurt your body is only telling you that your doing something right or you need to stretch more or stretch the right areas. Try stretching more and after wards if your still sore then you had just had a GREAT! workout.

Any time you work out your muscles, especially from exercise you will be sore since your muscles have been worked out.

Drink lots of water, it helps replenish your muscles, and you wont get dehydrated.

NO no. Its normal. Look it up on the web for an explanation of what happens to your muscles when you exercise. Keep it up.
