What makes a shed a permanent structure?
I have built a shed that is on skids.I put 6 posts cemented into the ground that it sets ontop of on the skids.Would this make it a permanent structure? In are codes it says if it is on skids it is not.
The neighbor is thrownig a fit with the board saying that the posts cemented into the ground that it sets on top of makes it permanent.

In general when structural supports of a building are mounted into the ground it classifies it as a permanent structure. If your shed was just on skids and setting on the skid on the ground it is temporary as it can be moved with out leaving any pieces i.e. your 6 posts.

actually any application of concrete makes the structure cemented
into the ground a permanent structure, as per NBC code. Now we
are talking about a grey area here because the original shed is still
portable. Had you not put the platform the way you did you would
have been just fine. When one uses concrete to support or make
foundation for a structure it becomes a permanent fixture to the land
and it can now become taxed as a property improvement. The board
can get you to tear down the platform because the platform was done
without approval or building permit. The shed is a different matter.
You can leave it on skids and use storm anchors to tie it down. No
harm no foul as long as the shed falls within the guideline covenants
of your community.

For the purposes of requiring permits, permanent means whatever the local building code says it means. This varies by LOCAL building code. In some areas, it could by a plastic shed sitting on mud without a foundation, but the SIZE would qualify it as a permanent structure. ALWAYS ask a code enforcement officer this type of question BEFORE building anything.

In the USA Cape Cod Ma.
Any structure larger than an 6' x 8' is a permanent structure. Therefore all permits and codes apply.

It depends on where you live. In most areas, a structure under a certain square footage is not considered a permanent structure. (In my area, that is 200sf). If the skids are permanently attached to the footings, then it is a permanent structure. It sounds like the footings (posts cemented into the ground) may be the problem.

Antlers are bone. They grow in the spring because of a thin, fuzzy, skin over them which contains rich blood veins. After the antlers reach full size for the age of the animal, the veins close off and the skin (velvet) dies and is rubbed off, leaving the pointed bone. At the end of summer the blood vessels at the base of the antlers seal off. The animal then either bangs his antlers on something or they just fall off. Next year he'll grow new ones to help him again in fighting other males for dominance of the females.
