Is the Chevrolet El Camino a practical car to drive?

I've talked to a few of my friends about the car but they said that it wasn't really that popular and didn't sell to well. I was just wondering why and the mpg the car.

The El Camino was built in the days when GM cars were very dependable and inexpensive to maintain. The fuel economy isn't great, but they are holding their value very well.

It wasn't very popular because Camaro, Monte Carlo, and Malibu/Chevelle were all being produced at the same time.

i replaced into completely inspired by employing my buddy's sparkling 'seventy 4 elcamino ss with the inventory 454ci/t-four hundred/ 12-bolt positrak axle. He further anti-hop bars and 12in. wide tires. He further a 100lb. sand bag next to the tailgait and made a 12.ninety 8 bypass on the a million/4 mile. the automobile replaced into production unit beautifull with black paint and silver metalic painted-on ss marks. It had a good factor/intense off the line stance with a good fabrics bucket seat interior complete with the rally sprint equipment and production unit A.C.! This automobile replaced right into a real muscle automobile and one hell of a "Sleeper"!

I would say if it's not a big block, and you don't have kids, it's very practical. Haul a little and a car ride.
