Didn't wear retainers for 36 hours straight? Everything feels wierd?
Ok, so I got my braces off in summer of 2007. I had a really bad overbite, and I had rubber bands for 6 months to correct that and allow my back teeth to grow in. (I'd had the herbst appliance before that to literally move my jaw forward).
So I almost always wear my retainers as told to. I till this day wear them every night. Well, I was at a friend's house and I was there for 24 hours. So in total I didn't wear my retainers for 36 hours.
I've not worn my retainers at night a few times before, but never this long.
Now, I have worn my retainers for 12 hours straight. My teeth feel fine while I have them in, but my back teeth don't meet up when I take them out. Horizontaly they do, but not vertically. Some teeth are longer than others. I don't recall it being this way...
Is this from not wearing the retainers? Or the shock from taking them out?
Thanks.

Haha, stop worrying. Teeth shift VERY fast, keep the retainers in. Everything should return to normal, or maybe you're just overreacting in the first place? You don't really expect 36 hours of shifting to be fixed in 12 do you?

I had braces seven years in the past or maybe as they were bumped off my ortho defined a similar difficulty to me and also you quite do could placed on it 24 hours an afternoon a minimum of for the first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.... I nevertheless have my retainer after 7 years and am nevertheless wearing it (only at nighttime now) yet I did flow although a level the position i did not prefer to placed on it in any respect, and believe me the impacts of no longer wearing it aren't to any extent further properly worth it, my the teeth moved lower back exceedingly a lot to the position they began and that i have when you consider that had to have 2 new retainers made because of it. So my suggestion to you is to adhere it out, i understand they supply u a lisp and they experience strange in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly isn't any longer properly worth going with out them, finally you'll only could placed on them at nighttime, yet when u do not placed on them now you'd be paying the cost like i'm 7 years later.... F.Y.I there are plates you may have completely put in position to offer up them shifting
