How do I stop Credit Companies from contacting me for my grand son's bills?

My grandson fails to include his middle initial and credit companies ruin my credit report by adding his bills to my credit report. How can I stop this?

Update:

I have accomplished some of the details mentioned by the two answers already given. The problem seems to be the collectors. They research by name and of course mine pops up and they use my contact information. I live in MN and my grandson is in Florida but I guess he changes addresses so much they can't keep up with him. Why would I use medical facitities in Florida when I live in Minnesota? Credit collectors are the major problem and ruin my credit report with false entries.

    Easy fix.

Get your credit reports for free at annual credit report.com

And add a dispute - saying not my account - grandson's account.

The item will be removed from your report.

If you receive a letter from the creditor verifying it's your account write them back and send it certified mail.

Tell them this is not my account, it is my grandsons, and provide a copy of your dr lic and an utility bill.

You will never be responsible for his debts.

Today, also, put a freeze on your credit reports about 4 bucks for each report.

Or put a fraud alert - hard to remove. But since you are older chances are you are not opening credit left and right. Fraud alert is free.

You need to get copies of your credit report and dispute any inaccurate information. After that there are several options like using a company like Lifelock to putting a warning on your credit report. Unfortunately, I do not know how these things effect your credit score. Plus, if you apply for a new line of credit it can take longer to be approved while they check everything. You can go to a credit reporting agency and ask these questions or talk with a credit consultant. I know both take time and money but credit is everything nowadays. Good luck with it.
