Hotels in New York City?

Okay so we're going on a trip in July to NYC. We have everything figured out except for the hotel. So my question is, what hotel should I chose? We're trying to keep it between the $200-350 a night range, preferably closer to times square, madison square gardens etc.

Any suggestions are welcome!

You can find quite a bit in your price range and can just about stay in any area of NYC that you want. Try this website: It searches all the New York City hotels on the web and compares prices from reservation sites like priceline, orbitz, hotels.com, etc. Then you can filter the results by rating, price, distance to landmarks and more. Just select areas like Times Square or the Empire State Building, etc. and compare the results!

Its really handy and totally free to use.

Well NYC is known for high prices but in your price range there are hundreds of quality hotels of up to 4 maybe even 5 stars so just choose any try finding it on priceline where you can try "name your price" and get a 5 star hotel as low as the $200s per night.

We always stay at the Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square. It runs $300 a night, is clean, safe & comfortable. It's within easy walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Empire State Bldg, Broadway shows & Grand Central Terminal.

Your price range can get you a decent hotel. However anything near times square are overpriced, in my opinion. Since the transit is so convenient in NYC, I recommend stay a bit further. You'll have plenty of options. If you care about the locations, you can start from this site:

Basically just to get a general ideas about your options. And then go to sites like hotels.com and expedia.com to find deals. I would also try the hotel's web site directly to find deals.

    Have fun in NYC!
