Why is the Guitar Hero mic zapping me?

I have guitar hero for the wii and whenever i use the mic it electrocutes me, not very badly just a zap that makes you jump. It even zaps me when i turn off the wii but leave it plugged in. Is there something I can do to stop it or should I just play with rubber gloves on?

    There's obviously a serious wiring problem. Try the mic on a different Wii, if it does the same thing, then get it repaired or get rid of it. If not, then the problem might be with your Wii, but I'd bet the problem is with the mic.

    are you putting spit on it is it not fully pluged in
