How would one go about finding out who owns a particular piece of property?
I want to find the owner of a house I am interested in I am getting two different stories from two different people not sure who to believe. So I need to know exactly who owns it and cut out the middle man and all the bull crap. And no it is all private no real-state companies are involved. Is there any other way to get this information?

Assuming you live in the US: Go to your county clerk's office and ask to see the tax map for the area. The map should list the owner's name along with some other info. Also, check the county's website. A lot of counties have tax maps online.
