I don't know if he still does it but I know that Manny tried to kick the chewing tobacco habit a few years ago. To help break the habit, he started chewing on one of those rubber mouth guards similar to the one boxers wear. Apparently, several ballplayers use them to help kick the tobacco habit.

Manny introduced the idea to Russell Martin, who also used one of the mouth guards all last season.

I can't remember the brand, but I know my dentist carries them. They're easy to spot because they usually come in mixes of bright colors.

Most players do not chew tobacco anymore. Most use an herbal chew that does not consist of tobacco. Manny also chews on pills as well.

well i think that MLB should ban players from chewing that stuff because its not good for your mouth and fans that see them chew it look up to them and then they chew the stuff also.
