How do I remix music?

I need to remix a few songs for a dance competition. Is there a program I can buy that will do this? If so, what's a good one that won't break the bank? I don't necessarily need to remix the tracks themselves (although that would be nice), but I do need to splice sections of songs and string them together differently to make a single track.

Thanks!

clever, its like if somebody owns a cd and makes copies for all there acquaintances without spending a dime, they are in elementary terms sharing the song, whilst finished on the internet its an identical to boot on a much better scale. The humorous element is whilst filesharing grew to alter into as immediately as happeining lots song income have been at there perfect, then checklist companies gained grasping and extra on their very own downfall.
