How much is a cam-belt change on Citroen Xsara Picasso?

UK only- figure labour at about £45 per hour and include parts. Am going to buy second hand one and need bargaining tool if it has not been done.

Depends entirely on the engine fitted.

They run from a 1.6 8V which should take less than 2 hours all in, through a 1.6 16V which takes extra time, and then the diesels are a little longer still due to the complexity of the installation and the physical size of the engine, with limited access. If it's not done, ask to knock £350 off the price, he will probably get it done as part of the deal, and that way you will get a 12 month parts and labour warranty on the cam belt job. If you get it done yourself, make sure you also get a 12 month warranty.

Don't worry about the cost....insist they change the belt as part of the purchase price
