What nail polish, if any, should I wear to a job interview?

I'm having a dilemma trying to decide what nail polish to wear to a job interview. Here are the things I am taking into consideration:

1. The interview is for a government position- accounting tech with DFAS

2. I'm caucasian and I'm not very tan right now. Sheers and light pinks make my hands look ghostly and horrible unless I have my summer color.

3. My nails and hands look really nice with burgundy/wine colors. I typically wear OPI's "Bogota Blackberry" or similar shades.

I'm well aware that I shouldn't walk in wearing loud colors, neons, or anything that could be construed as edgy. As much as I love a rich purple or emerald green, I know they're not interview-appropriate! I'd love a french manicure but I'm not good enough to do a nice one myself and my budget is tight right now so I can't justify going to have my nails done.

So, here's my real question: I have nice nails, with or without polish. Should I not wear polish so that I don't make a bad color choice? Or should I wear polish so I have a more finished, complete look? And if I wear polish, is it okay to wear a wine color?

Thanks in advance for your help! I appreciate it!

wear the polish that looks best.

as long as its not some tweeny-boppin colour like bright yellow, you should be fine.

make sure you're dressed accordingly, and polish colour shouldn't be an issue.

As much as I love Bogota Blackberry, I think a wine colour would perhaps be a bit too dark on your pale skin and could be perceived as edgy. Just to be safe, I would wear only a clear coat of polish (if you end up wearing any at all) but definitely clip, clean, and file your nails so they're in good condition for the interview.

    Good luck!

I know u say a peach or a light pink won't look good but the three colors for a job interview are like french manicure, peach or light pink....maybe go with a clear then? something to make your hands look polished? but the darks and reds are out!

i would wear a cranberry to wine color, and if your really wanting a french manicure since you budget is tight buy some fake nails and file them some so they don't look trashy! oh or you could just put some clear nail polish on your real nails.

Mademoiselle by Essie is a great, classy, professional color. It will look like your nails, only better, and it will give you a touch of that French manicure look that you're going for. Don't go with a dark shade; you will look too vampy for an interview.

As a former interviewer for the two male and woman positions I say pass away the black nail polish for Halloween. take care of the interview professionally, no mater what the employer or place. same is going for adult males and girls, take out the surplus rings too. in case you get the pastime then you definately can slowly upload on your choose for interest.
