What video games would you recommend to someone who is a "beginner" at gaming?
So far I've only played World of Warcraft, but I want to start playing other games as well. It doesn't have to be a MMO, but preferably one that has a strong social element to it.
My main is an 80 rogue.
Thanks for the answers so far.

Battle Forge by EA games is good. And so is Battlefield Heroes also by EA games. Both are free downloadable games that have the option of spending money on parts of the game. Both are mmo. Battle forge is a overhead RTS or real time strategy. You summon cards and point them in the right direction and command them to fight other creatures. Battlefield Heroes is kind of a silly type war game were you buy guns and abilities and get paired up with people of your skill level to fight. Battlefield heroes also has GREAT music if that matters. If your in to more D&D type games like WOW you might want to try Runescape or Battle Forge.

Gamecube games similar to the Legend of Zelda? You're best matches would be Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Tales of Symphonia. I HIGHLY recommend them both for him. I'm sure he'll like them. :)
