Looking for cheap paddock boots?

I ride English Hunter/Jumper and tend to wear out my boots in under six months. I want a pair that will last (and can put up with 4-7 days of doing barn work as well as riding-plus be to cleaned up well enough to pass at a schooling show every once in a blue moon), but don't really have that big a budget (preferably not over $100). I've been looking at the boots Dover has (have a gift certificate still from xmas) but still not 100%. Ariats are nice, but generally not in my budget. Can any of you guys make a suggestion?

If you want good quality boots that won't wear out in six months, you'll have to splurge. I'd get Ariats, because they last until you outgrow them. I know Dover has coupons in catalog's and special codes, so you could try those. Good luck! :)

If you wanted to compete, a good pair of tall boots would be worth it. Although, if the shows are local they wouldn't mind black half-chaps and paddock boots. Wearing just paddock boots would probably hurt your leg because you would get splinters and pinched. You may also not have grip. So, I wouldn't recommend just paddock boots. I say go for the tall boots if you're planning on showing but if not just invest in a good pair of half chaps.

I personally buy "saxon" boots from horse.com The lace up one's look nice, and they are only about 30 bucks - plus they last about a year (I wear them every day) and are inexpensive!

I would recommend maybe asking for a nicer pair for like your birthday or something, and buying these for just daily use, (although I think they'd be just fine for schooling shows!)

Hope I helped and best of luck!
