Is System Cleanup Software Effective?

I found some software at a store that claims to make a computer run faster and clean it up, removing files I don't need and defragging it. I was jsut wondering if this would be at all helpful in boosting the speed of my computer. i find it's slowed down in the last little while, and I was going to get a professional cleanup, but this seems like a cheaper option. is it worth it?

It is far easier and safer to use the system provided disk cleanup and defragmenter to clean your system files. Including in this buying a good Virus Scan program and downloading Windows Defender and Yahoo Anti Spy as well to aid in keeping files clean.

As for speeding up the system these programs are guaranteed to do so.

You can also speed up your system by adding more RAM on one note, and upgrading your CPU on another. This is sure to help the speed. Then of course the major upgrade would be to better the Hard Drive you have so the hard drive itself is faster and more efficient. So in a sense you can make your system run faster with little or no cost at all or you can go the route of upgrading to accomplish a task and spend a little more than $200 and solve the issue.

You can also run Error Checking found in System Properties in Control Panel, in the Tools section, as well as finding the disk Cleanup and defragmenter here also.

Regular cleanings and trojans checks, virus scans and error checks will keep the system running well.

yes it does help some what but before you go buying all that check your computer first most computers have a built in defrag program and and to remove programs you dont need just go to the control panel then go to programs or uninstall programs then click where it says size look for the big ones that take up alot of space then see how often you use them if you use them at all then uniinstall the ones you dont use
