If you're stuck abroad due to the volcano, have to stay longer in your hotel, can you claim on your insurance?

Just thinking a lot of people are going to be spent out and in financial difficulties through no fault of their own?

Update:

Heard something somewhere about it being "an act of God" so insurance wouldn't pay out. Don't know if it's true or not.

Update 2:

Travel, flight or holiday insurance. Will they cough up if the cause of damages is an act of God so-called?

Car insurance? No. House insurance? No. Health insurance? No. Life insurance? No. Travel insurance? Maybe, if you bought it. It's not standardized, so you'd have to read the details on what you bought.
