I need a new computer should i buy now or wait till a back to school sale?

buy it now dont wait cause at the time of the back to school sales will be more expensive

if you think it is a good deal, then buy it. prices always drop for computers, it's just the way the economy works with technology.

but fwiw:

best times to buy a computer are august and december. august because of back to school sales and december because old stuff becomes cheap and holiday sales mixed in.

worst time is february to april because older technology gets inflated in price while new stuff starts at introductory prices that don't drop until around may/june.

of course this is pretty general, but it's usually the case.

truthfully id say invest in a core i5 or i7. but as for waiting....nothing drastic is going to happen with hardware in the next few months. you might see the integration of usb 3.0 since its out and just around the corner (just waiting for the peripheral to catch up!) other then that. SSD may come down a bit but they're still going to be pretty expensive. it really up to you. tigerdirect and new egg always have deals going on. you may end up saving a few bucks by waiting and if you can stand your PC for a few more months do that. if you do buy now you wont be kicking your self in this summer wishing you would have waited because the hardware is going to be extremely similar.

buy now because the back to school stuff is actually going to be more expensive because of the rush
