I repeat that I’m especially sorry not to play there, because I would like it to be understood that it really is that way, because it is played in my club and it is my home tournament.

Nadal is often seen at the Bernabeu watching Real play.
But in December 2008, shortly after Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso admitted he enjoyed watching Barcelona play over his favorite Real Madrid, Nadal made a similar admission when interviewed by the Catalan daily SPORT:
“Yes, I am also a fan of Barça. It’s okay… you can write that and emphasise it, please. Barcelona have always treated me very well and I feel like one of the family. I want them to know that the feeling is mutual.
I am often regarded as a supporter of Real Madrid and it’s true that I have a lot of affection for the club. But I also have great admiration for Barcelona and just football in general and I follow the league every weekend without missing a game.
They [Madrid] are not having much luck in the opening stages of the season and the injuries are making things worse. And all this is happening while their arch rivals, Barcelona, are playing the best football in the world.”
Rafael Nadal is the nephew of former Barcelona defender Miguel Angel Nadal, so one would've thought that Barça was the one and only club he supported. But he appears to be a passive, rather than a passionate, fan of both clubs.

Rafa is a big Real Madrid fan...when he said it was played in 'his club' he probaly meant its his tennis club. Rafa also supports RCD Mallorca but he is a bigger Real fan.
There is an interview where a journalist says that Rafa is bad luck for Madrid because every time he goes to the matches they lose. Rafa says that it is not true and says he went to the Madrid derby and they won. He also said that the Barcelona President Txiki Beriguistain, called his uncle to make sure that he would be at El Classico because Rafa would jinx Madrid! He said he is invited to everything at Nou Camp!
