NRL: Luke Walsh - do you rate him?
The Panthers have found a brilliant replacement for Peter Wallace in Knights cast off Luke Walsh. He seems to be just what the Pennies need, with 13 of his kicks leading to tries and distributing the ball around the team enough so that 13 lines breaks have been setup by other players.
Although Uate's tryscoring would dull the pain somewhat, I reckon Novocastrians would be wishing Mullen or Dureau was going that well this season.
What do you think of Luke Walsh? Future Origin halfback or just playing well in a Pennies side flying under the radar?

Are you kidding lol Have you noticed how exactly he "sets up" those tries from kicks. He bombs! BOMBS!!! Thats all he does!! He puts a bomb up, it gets a lucky bounce or the opposition knocks it on which results in a try. Anyone can do that. I reckon it'd be close to 90% of his kicks are plain ol' simple bombs, he offers nothing else. I'm glad he's gone, he's a one trick pony and his defence is slowly picking up but is still a big problem. I used to like him but now that he's getting all this credit for basically doing nothing- it's really changed my opinion on him.
I rate him around about the 11th best halfback in the game. He's decent and works well in the Panthers line-up but compared to everyone else he stands in their shadow.
(My opinion, dont hate lol)

As a Knights fan I'm very disappointed he was let go. he for mine is a genuine halfback(which are hard to find) whilst Mullen is more of a 5/8 that they have been trying to turn into a half. walsh at half and mullen at 5/8 would have been sweet. add gidley at fullback and de gois at no.9 and we'd have had the best 1/6/7/9 combination in the game.

I reckon he is brilliant. A great buy for Penrith, he has definately made them a top 4 side. They were going nowhere with Sammut in the halves, but now the combination of Walshy, Kingstons, Burns and Coote is a strong under estimated spine. As you have mentioned, they always fly under the radar, just missing finals last year. In terms of whether he will play Origin, I'm not 100% for that, but his value to Penrith is way more than say someone with a higher salary at a different club.

I reckon he's a solid half but not outstanding.
He will most likely not play origin in the future due to all the gun youngsters and skilled halfs in the NRL but he is doing a decent job at the Panthers.

I think he's playing very good for Penrith and is in terrific form. One of the form halves in the game
But in saying that, he's nowhere near good enough for Origin. I'm not fussed that he left, i rate Ben Rogers ahead of him (even Dureau). Walsh's combination sucked alongside Mullen, that's why it didn't bother me he left. People bag Rogers, but he's a quality player. I rate him.

Yeah, I'd rate him at about 6 or 7/10 based on his performance so far in the season,, but its too early... He'd have to maintain that form for the whole of the season in order for me to think he's that type of quality halfback....

Mm I think he works in well with the Panther's side but overall I don't rate him too highly. Maybe I should start watching more of his games, but at the moment, I'm unconvinced he would make the NSW side while Wallace is still around.

I really REALLY wish newcastle had kept Walshy instead of Dureau...
I HATE DUREAU :(
