I just had to add to this alittle. I have a Sony 5.1 htib and I purchased a blu ray player later. Now I have the htib running the surround sound and the blu ray is connected to the tv. The audio output from the tv is connected to the input of the htib. Works great. I have an extra dvd because of the htib, but it's not connected because the blu ray took it's port. Once you use a blu ray, you won't go back to normal dvd's. PS. The best buy employee was wrong or just trying to upgrade you early.
