Yes, that is a decent model of HP laptop, and Windows Vista Home Premium is the Operating System. Windows Vista is about 3 years old, and will continue to get updates for another 2 years at least. Another Service pack should arrive by the end of the year, making Vista SP3 the most recent, although currently, SP2 is the latest major update.

If you have kids, Vista has Parental Controls (you can turn them on and off) along with the ability to use Steady State (to protect your computer from malicious sites), and is compatible with all major Antivirus programs and security products. It is reliable, and will run a lot of programs, although some programs made for XP do not run on Vista. Make sure this Operating System will run the programs you need before you purchase it.

EDIT - I'm running Windows Vista. And I don't find it "glitchy". Like all Operating Systems, Vista has people who simply do not like it. Any comments by others who say Vista is a bad choice without providing evidence of how it will not suit your needs are prejudiced against it.

Also note, Vista was not well received by a lot of people, and yet, Vista does have "fans". Windows 7 is based on Vista.

    Hello jihad,

Home Premium is one of the many versions of Windows Vista, and a little more advanced han the Home version. Windows Vista Home Basic supports basic computing needs, such as e-mail, browsing the Internet, and viewing photos.

As to HP G60 243 look at the review done by Retrevo:

    http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=HP+G60-243&rt=oa&m...

This is a budget minded laptop, with an integrated graphics card, meaning it should perform well for basic computer tasks like playing DVDs, surfing and doing some word processing, that's it. It won't be appropriate to play high demanding video resources like Crysis, WOW, etc. Komprende jihad?

I hope this information be of any help at the moment of making your laptop purchase. Take care jihad.

Windows Vista is a operating system. I wouldn't recommend it. Try looking for a laptop that has WINDOWS 7 installed on it.

Edit: I don't recommend Vista because it is very glitchy and compared to Windows 7 is sucks. You wont regret getting Windows 7 I promise.

Windows Vista is an operating system. It runs the Laptop.

Windows Vista Home Premium is one of the many versions of Windows Vista. (Vista Home basic, Business, Ultimate...)

Personally, I do not recommend buying something with Windows Vista in it.

Look for something with Windows 7 in it.

In my opinion it takes up room on the laptop especially if your not using those particular programs.

But you can always uninstall them if you don't want them :)
