I cant hit my big bertha (2006) irons and want to trade them? here is the offer, what do you think?

The guy offered me some PING i3 Green Dot irons...You think this is a fair trade, value wise? also, are these clubs any good? I was looking more for like Raptures or g5s or something, but is this a good deal?

This club set i3 was made in 2000, so right off the bat your getting an older club model. Condition is next, they might be older, but were they used much? How were they stored? Green Dot is a measurement system Ping has, make sure they would fit you (Go to Ping official website, they will talk you though their fitting system and you will know what color dot they recommend). Ping is comparable to Callaway, they are both top quality clubs. The i3 have a large sweet spot, so they are easier to hit, more forgiving and generally feel like your hitting more solid. I feel the same way about the Big Bertha's, but you state you can't hit them, so it's hard to really know if this would work better. Maybe it's not the equipment, maybe it's the operator...sorry, didn't want to go there...have you had lessons? I love the G5's. I play with a mixed bag of clubs: Ping, Cleveland, Callaway. I hope this helps.

If you can't hit the Big Berthas what makes you think you can hit the i3s. The Callaways are more forgiving and supposedly easier to hit than i3s which are more like a blade / player's iron. Plus the i3s are a few years older than the Callaways. Don't get me wrong, Ping's are great. So yes, the Raptures or G5's which are a more forgiving Ping iron is a better bet. In my opinion G5 is the way to go. Make sure you google the Ping color code chart to find out what color dot is best for you.
