WOW, World of Warcraft and Windows 7 problem...?

Question

I have a new computer with Windows 7 premium and excellent memory, Ram, video and sound cards, etc. Yesterday I downloaded the WOW free trial and it worked great. But, the next day I was unable to access either the internet or WOW. There appeared to be a "unknown" network connection running in the background, which I was unable to sever, and this blocked my ability to make other connections. I ended up having to uninstall WOW, and now my computer is back to normal, but I liked the game and I want it back! I also have McAfee, with no signs of a virus. Anyone else have similar problems? I contacted Blizzard, but I haven't heard back yet.

windows firewall is so good at blocking that even windows update can not access internet with it on get a third party firewall in a security suite and disable windows firewall and see if that helps also turn off the UAC because it causes alot of problems with updates and the like

Could be your firewall settings, say check those, see if you got them open for wow.
