Mini Laptop (NetBook) Questions!?
Ok so I was planning on buying the Aspire One by ACER. I need to ask several questions before I actually do buy it, though!
1. It has a 10.1 screen. Will I be able to suft the web comfortably with that? I mean, will I be able to see the full page on the screen at once?
2. Can I access my social accounts, like Facebook, Youtube, MSN on it? And my MSN Messanger? While seeing the whole page at once?
3. Is it going to be very slow to start up? It comes with the Windows 7 Starter, if that makes a difference! How long will start up be?
4. Can I get iTunes on it? How about Limewire?
5. Is it very slow? Avarege? Fast?
6. Is the 0.3 Megapixel built in camera crappy? If so, can I connect a webcam to the computer?
Ok please try your best to answer all the questions! Please do not refer me to an un-useful website, I dont wanna read crap! If you yourself have this laptop, how do you find it? Oh, and dont tell me to buy a PC or laptop, stick to the questions asked please!

I bought an Acer Aspire One AO532-2326 recently and I am pretty happy with it.
1- The smaller screen bothers me more than I expected it to. It's not the 10-inch size so much as the 1024x600 resolution. You will have to do some side-to-side scrolling sometimes. Because the vertical resolution is only 600 pixels, I find I constantly have to scroll down to do almost anything. It's the single worst aspect of the 10-inch netbooks and it takes some getting used to (at least for me it does).
2- You can access your social accounts, but expect to scroll.
3- I have Windows 7 Starter on mine. It boots up pretty quick, probably quicker than Windows XP.
4- I don't see why not. However, I don't use those apps myself, so I can't say for sure.
5- It is slower than most new laptops. It's probably faster than my 4 or 5 year old HP laptop that it replaced. Netbooks don't have powerful graphics chips in them, so you will not be able to play full screen HD video. For less-graphics intense applications, you should be OK so long as you don't run more than 4-5 different apps at once. To be honest, I don't notice that my Acer runs particularly slowly for run-of-the-mill stuff.
6- I was under the impression that the Acer has a 1.3mp webcam built in, not an 0.3mp. I haven't used mine much yet. You should be able to add an external webcam using one of the 3 USB ports, but I bet you won't feel the need to do so.
I like my Acer. I also looked at models from Dell, HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Asus, Gateway, MSI, and maybe a few others I can't recall. I like the Acer model I bought for the price/performance combination: cheaper than the superior Toshiba, better features and/or cheaper for the same features than most of the others.
Oh, and one other little thing I particularly like about the Acer: the screen hinge opens wider than most other netbooks. Makes for an easier viewing angle when I'm sitting with the Acer on my lap.

You won't be able to see the full screen but there's always the scroll option.
Yes you can access social accounts. No you won't see the whole webpage for things like Youtube, you can make it fit your screen.
Start up should not be long on a new computer, just depends how many programs you have open that open on start.
Yes, you can get itunes and limewire, but I can't guarantee the sound quality.
The processor will be relatively slow therefore, it won't be too fast - I'd say average and not slow, but if you want to run games, you won't be able to most likely.
Computers that are small usually have a few USB ports so you will be able to connect another camera because a .3 megapixel camera is really crappy. 2.0 megapixel are pretty nice and all you need nowadays. I suggest a gigaware 2.0 megapixel camera for about $40

I just got an Asus Eee PC 1005 with a 10.1'' screen. Yeah, everything you listed will work great! iTunes and Limewire are fine, and the web cam is only OK. Start-up (when the computer is new) is about 1-2 min. After a month or so, 1.5-2.5 min.
When on the web, though, you will want to hit "F11" for full screen. This adds about 2'' that are needed.

you can call theme whatever you want, but netbook is the most generally accepted term. they can easilly do MSN and word and IE or firefox at the same time. The cons are A: small screen B: 3d games made after 2000 or so will not run, but most before that will (sims, roller coaster tycoon, etc.) C: i can't really think of one honestly. there small and light, easy to carry, as long as you keep your windows install light or use linux there pretty fast, they can play full screen video from youtube hulu or netflix, they can do photo editing programs, its easy to get used to the small keyboard. for me at least the netbook is the laptop done right, if i wanted a bit screen and a lot of processing power i would use my desktop. there single core 1.6 ghz though, so if you want a heavy anti-virus and get allot of spyware and and have a really slow windows install it will be very very slow, but keeping it minimal its pretty fast.

Mine came with a lot of bloat-ware that i removed and installed my own apps for security and productivity.

it only has one processor so if you don't do more then one thing at a time it should be pretty good. 0.3 is average high quality camera resolution.
