Is IM for Unlimited Txt T-Mobile free?

I have unlimited text for my T-Mobile plan & I have a Samsung Highlight

I've heard that IM for Mobile is free if i have unlimited, but I have a strict mom so I'm scared to try.

Anyone know for sure?

    I think it is. My friend uses the IM thing all the time and it just uses her texts.
