Does anyone have an Acer TIMELINE or know of someone who owns one?

I'm looking for a college laptop with a long battery life. I still have my main computer which is a windows Vista Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4831 14.1''diag screen "truebrite" Amd Turrionx2 processor. 4g of ram 200gb hd, with windows vista (64bit) ... The thing is, this laptop gets like zero battery life :( Soo I need a new computer for College with a very good battery life. I was considering an Acer Timeline, but they are very underpowered from what i've read. If anyone has one, or knows of someone who has one. Can you get me their opinion on it? That would be great, thanks.

The Acer timelines use a 1.40 Ghz ultra-low voltage Intel Core 2 Duo (or Solo but dont get that one). These are designed with only one goal in mind, power consumption. Because of that, I will say that it will be underpowered but thats what you should expect when looking for a laptop with such a long battery life. I think it was more intended for travelers than students but either way, you will get annoyed by its speed hiccups even though it'll work fine for music, internet, email, documents, and other everyday stuff. Even in college, I'm sure you wont be using the laptop for 8 hours straight, classes aren't that long. I would recommend you look for a Core i3 based laptop. It is a newer line that should crush the Timelines in performance but its not very power hungry either. In fact, you should be able to get 4 hours but you can also choose to buy a larger 9 cell battery for added power. If you want even more battery, you will have to sacrifice performance to fall back to the Core 2 duo line of processors.
