I had a lower face-lift and not sure I am happy with results...?

I had a lower face lift a month ago along with liposuction to remove double chin. My face on the sides of my still feels puffy and am not sure I am happy with results so far. I was told, by the doctor and his assistant, that it takes up to a year to see the full results of the face lift. Is this true? or is the doctor pulling one on me?

Your doctor is being entirely honest with you. It's only been a month, and you are just now at the point that you can even begin to get an idea of what things will look like. It can take at least a month to two months before all puffiness, blotchiness and redness fade. It can take several months for the face to completely heal. So yes, it can take up to a year- and the more work that was done at the time, the longer it all takes to heal. The face is a very sensitive area of the body, and it doesn't react well to being cut, poked, pulled and the fat sucked out. Everyone who has a face lift thinks that before a month is over, they should see a model perfect face in the mirror. It just doesn't work that way, sorry. It takes a few months if all you do is a nose job, and you had way more than that done. So you need to be patient for a while longer.

Well it's still early days and you will very likely still have significant swelling. The final result may not be evident until about the 6 month mark. Just try to relax (easy said than done) and let everything settle for the next few months. If by 6 months you are still unhappy then return to your original surgeon and explain your concerns.

    Happy healing.

Absolutely true. You have elected to put your face through trauma. After any trauma it is common to take 6-8 months or so for swelling to go down, skin tone to even and for things to heal properly. Something as simple as a belly button ring is not completely healed for 6 months. Now apply that to what you had done, and wait!
